What is Less Than Truckload (LTL) Freight?

Less Than Truckload shipping, commonly known as LTL, means consolidating smaller shipments onto a single truck, but only paying for the space used. LTL shipping is more affordable and environmentally friendly than filling a single Full Truck Load (FTL) trailer with a partial load. LTL freight carriers provide mostly domestic shipping.
